The Crown Automotive Standard Differential Gear Set is for Jeeps with an open-differential Dana 35 rear axle. The differential and spider gears the allow the rear wheels to spin at different rotations when turning and going around bends. If there is an issue with your differential gear set and they are seized or broken, you may be dragging the outside wheel around the turn, potentially causing other damage inside the axle and drivetrain, while also causing premature tread wear on the tires and reduced grip. This gear set is used in any Dana 35 sized carrier, and can be used with any ring and pinion gear ratio.
