A serious problem common to CJ’s is frame rust at the leaf spring shackle mount area. There is a rubber body mount located above the rear frame section that retains moisture and allows it to slowly seep into the frame rail. Sand and mud also get trapped inside the hollow frame rails, resulting in total rust-through.
