Wranglers have weld-nuts inside the frame rails that secure the transfer case skid plate in place. The skid plate also is the transmission and transfer case mount. Typically the bolts are a problem to remove due to rust on the inside of the frame rail. When this happens, access holes are often cut unto the side to facilitate removal of these bolts.
