Rugged Ridge’s Textured Black Side Steps give firm footing to you and other people riding in your 1997-2006 Wrangler, whether you’re climbing in or out, and feature a textured black finish that matches up well to other trim and finish pieces. You’ll appreciative the no-slip surface of the step pads when your shoes or boots are coated in mud, slick with slush, or just when you’re tired. The stout 3” tubing bolts right onto the frame of your Jeep so it doesn’t give at all under your weight, even when you jump in quickly and exert extra force on the bar. The tubing is thick enough to serve as an occasional rocker panel guard, deflecting rocks or stumps sturdily, though it probably shouldn’t be used for regular rock sliding.

3” drawn over mandrel, or DOM, steel is used for the construction of the Rugged Ridge Textured Black Side Steps. The wall thickness is 0.070”, which provides a total of around 1/8” of steel to protect the lower doors/rocker panels. The toughness of these steps is further reinforced by the 3/16” laser-cut plate steel mounting brackets. All metal parts are coated in rust-defying black powder-coat, and the nylon step pads are UV-treated.

The Rugged Ridge Textured Black Side Steps are supplied with heavy-duty mounting brackets, plus a hardware kit. It is necessary to drill several mounting holes for the bolts, which are self-tapping and should be hand-torqued with a torque wrench.
